about

Kraj reke ( Jedno telo) By the River ( One body)

Hāfez(1325 –1389) Persian Mystical Poet wrote:" I have come into this world to see this: the sword drop from men’s hands even at the height of their arc of rage because we have finally realized there is just one flesh we can wound."

In this song, Martris sings about embracing, forgiving another that is
beeing referred to as "the enemy" . A woman near the river is shedding her tears; Giving a confession to the river; Her grief, her sadness and a prayer for forgiveness in a realization that the other, she calls her enemy is just a reflection of her self; A song as an intimate realization that she an another are the same and connected, as one body.

lyrics

Kraj reke ( Jedno telo)

Ja sam tvoj glas i tvoje telo

Tvoj san nepozeljan, nepriznat, tih

Ja sam tvoja suza neplakana, nema

U nama kuca srce izniklo iz istog tela

Ti si blaga ceznja iza nemih usni,

Stegnute u strahu predaka – moj bol

Glas u meni tiho što doziva traži,

Dok čekamu tami da zanemi zov

Kraj reke suze lila,

Kraj reke moma mila,

Kraj reke suze lila,

Kraj reke moma mila,

Reko tiho ovaj šapat nosi,

Nečujno , neznano zauvek je predano

By the River (One Body)

I am your voice and your body

Your fear unwanted, unacknowledged, quiet

I am your teardrop, left uncried, numbed

Our beating hearts have sprouted out of the same body.

You are the wound behind these numbed lips

Grippeded by the fears of my fathers, my pain

The silenced voice within, calling me and begging

While I'm waiting in the dusk for the pain to disappear

By the river, shedding her tears

By the river, dear girl

Oh river, softly take these whispers of pain

The hushed, the unknown, offered up eternally

Your feet are running, even when you are standing

My eyes are looking through yours,

These arms want to love, because hatred only hurts

And only forgiveness can heal the forsaken wounds

You are my shadow, which I dread to see

That silent voice ticking, my forgotten salvation

You are the words that hurt, due to my fear and shame

This lament also arises from your throat

By the river, shedding her tears she was weeping

By the river, dear girl

Oh river, softly take these whispers of pain

The hushed, the unknown, offered up eternally
